Kelvin Gastelum spoke with MMAjunkie about his win over Bubba McDaniel on The Ultimate Fighter 17 last night and more. Check out the highlights:
On whether his girlfiend minded that Ronda Rousey wanted to meet him and coach a training session: "She was cool about it. She's pretty awesome."
On Rousey's call to him inspiring him for the bout: "I'm a huge Ronda fan, and it was great to have that phone call...It was a great surprise. I was just thankful to Chael for helping me out and giving me that extra boost."
On Sonnen's coaching skills: "He really relaxed me and told me I could win this fight."
On McDaniel: "To [McDaniel], I'm just a little punk kid trying to work my way up. He overlooked me. Everybody overlooked me."
On whether he'll call Rousey before her fight at UFC 157: "No, no. I don't have her number. Even if I did, I probably wouldn't. Maybe a tweet."
