NSAC Claims That Demetrious Johnson vs John Moraga Is In Jeopardy
Posted by Joseph Lee on 02.26.2013

MMA Junkie reports that a flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson (17-2-1 MMA, 5-1-1 UFC) and John Moraga (12-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) is in jeopardy.

Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer said that a UFC official told him the fight may not happen. The fight was set to headline The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale on April 13 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Johnson last defended his title at UFC on FOX 6 with a unanimous decision against John Dodson in the headliner of the January 26 show in Chicago. Before that, he won the title by split decision against Joseph Benavidez at UFC 152. Meanwhile, Moraga has won his past two fights, including his debut in August with a first-round TKO over Ulysses Gomez. He also won by third-round submission over Chris Cariaso at UFC 155, which got him a $65,000 bonus. He is on a seven fight win streak.
