His testosterone was below normal...
MMA Junkie reports that Alistair Overeem's (36-12 MMA, 1-1 UFC) blood test after UFC 156 has come back clean and his testosterone levels are below the normal testing range. He lost to Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva (18-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) on the main card of the PPV at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas by third-round knockout. This ended his chance at a heavyweight title shot against champion Cain Velasquez.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission oversaw the fight, which took place on February 2.
21 other fighters also tested clean for performance-enhancing drugs, recreational drugs and drugs of abuse in the post fight drug test. Overeem was required to take a blood test in addition to a urinalysis.
He was licensed for UFC 156, but was denied a license last April after failing a pre-fight drug test before UFC 146. He claimed he took a mixture of vitamins from a doctor that he didn't know contained testosterone, which caused him to have elevated levels. He was not suspended, but he wasn't allowed to reapply for the license for nine months.
This time, his levels were below the normal range of 250-1,110 non grams per deciliter (ng/dL). His testosterone was at 179 from the test, which was given the morning after the fight at 8:25 AM on February 3. All other levels within the blood test came back within the normal reference range.
While Overeem controlled the first two rounds against Silva, he took several punches against the fence and went down, giving Bigfoot the win.
