Bellator MMA and Top Featherweight Contender Daniel Straus Arrested in Florida on Traffic and Drug Charges

Bellator MMA fighter and season 6 featherweight tournament winner Daniel Straus was reportedly arrested on Friday on four traffic and drug charges in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His arrest has been confirmed by the Broward Sheriff's Public Information Office.
Records state that Straus was charged with driving on a suspended license, possession of cannabis of more than 20 grams, possession of MDMA/ecstasy, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. There is not yet any additional information, though a spokesperson will reportedly be available on Monday during regular office hours.
Straus is currently being held at the North Broward Bureau detention facility in Pompano Beach. His bond for the four charges is currently set at $2,200.
Straus previously won the season 6 Bellator featherweight tournament in 2012. He was set to fight for the featherweight title against reigning champion Pat Curran in April at Bellator 95, but he was forced to withdraw from the fight earlier due to injury. Season 7 featherweight tournament winner Shahbulat Shamhalaev recently was announced as getting the next title shot.
