Have to expect the unexpected..
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Daron Cruickshank (12-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) talked about having to adjust to mistakes that happen before his fights. He will compete tonight at UFC 158 against John Makdessi (10-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) on the FX preliminary card from the Bell Center in Montreal.
His latest, admittedly small, problem, is that his shorts were lost during his flight to Montreal.
On his attitude about possible problems before a fight: "I worry about myself. The fight is going to happen no matter what. If I make weight or he misses weight, I'm still going to fight."
On losing his luggage: "Things like that happen. You lose your luggage. Hotels don't have saunas, and you have to go searching for a sauna. All that stuff I put behind me and concentrate on the task ahead."
On thinking about his problems: "After the fight is done and I'm sitting in the room by myself, it kind of hits me, the things that I've done. But it's hard to think about it when it's going on."
