Not all that surprising...
MMAjunkie recently spoke with veteran oddsmaker Joey Odessa who confirmed that UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre opened as a -225 favorite over his next likely challenger, Johny Hendricks, who is a +175 underdog.
The bout has yet to be officially scheduled, but following both their respective wins at UFC 158, it appears likely that GSP will defend his title next against the top ranked welterweight in Hendricks.
Odessa commented on the match-up and Hendricks' wrestling abilities posing a challenge to champion, "I've always admired the MMA wrestlers and been critiqued for it because of my love of the sport of wrestling, but there's no bias in my price. It's a more than a winnable bout for Hendricks." He added: "There's not much to say about Georges that we don't already know throughout his outstanding Hall of Fame career. Hendricks is the best college wrestler St-Pierre has faced to date. Add to it, Johny has shown in his 15 wins that he poses as big a threat with his hands as his wrestling skills, both of which Georges has shown to be able to neutralize and overcome in the past."
