Kamal Shalorus Signs With ONE FC
Posted by Joseph Lee on 03.30.2013

MMA Junkie reports that Kamal Shalorus (7-3-2) has signed with ONE FC and will meet Eduard Folayang (12-3) in May. He announced the news on his Facebook page, and other sources have confirmed it (including AXS TV's Inside MMA). The event will take place on May 31 at SM Mall of Asia Arena near Manila, Philippines.

Shalorus started his career at 4-0-1 before signing to the WEC. He then went 3-0-1 before a UFC merger. The only fight without a win was a split draw against Jamie Varner in which he lost a point for groin strikes. In the UFC, he ended up losing by stoppage to Jim Miller, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Rafael dos Anjos and was then released. They were the only losses of his career.

Meanwhile, Folayang's most recent fight was a TKO loss due to doctor's stoppage. Before that he won seven of eight fights, including a 2-1 run in One FC with decision wins over Felipe Enomoto and A Sol Kwon. Seven of his twelve wins came by stoppage, including five knockouts.

The event will also feature a bantwamweight title fight between champion Honorario Benario and Bae Young Kwon. Bibiano Fernades is expected to return, as he's currently on a five-fight win streak.
