Weidman is still worried the fight may not happen until they both get in the cage...
UFC middleweight fighter and top title contender, Chris Weidman, commented this week about his upcoming bout with Anderson Silva. They are set to fight at UFC 162 in July. Below are some highlights:
Weidman on UFC telling him a that Rashad Evans could get a title shot if Evans were to beat Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 156: "[White and Fertitta] said, 'It's between you and Rashad.' If he had a devastating knockout, they didn't say it was going to him, but I assumed...As that fight was going on, I was like, 'Wow, I'm probably getting the shot.'"
Weidman on his concerns regarding the bout with Silva: "But now, it's a done deal. Hopefully...I just want to make sure we both get in the fricken' cage July 6. I'm still worried about that...I don't want him to hear this interview and be like, 'Oh, that's a good idea.' So don't use this, Anderson."
