He reportedly knew one of the bombers...
Los Angeles Times reports that a former one-time professional MMA fighter was shot and killed today by an FBI special agent looking into his ties with the accused Boston Marathon bomber, Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
The suspect, Ibragim Todashev (age 27), was being interviewed about the April 15 bombing in Orlando, Florida. A "violent controntation" reportedly broke out according to federal law enforcement sources. Todshev was then shot and killed while an unnamed agent sustained "non-life-threatening injuries." Todashev was contacted as part of the FBI's investigation.
Tsnarnaev and Todashev both hailed from Chechnya. Reportedly the pair knew each other as MMA fighters. Reps for the Wai Kru gym in Boston where Tsnarnaev reportedly trained said the suspected bomber was a boxer who only occasionally sparred at the facility. Tamerlan Tsnarnaev was shot and killed by police several days after the bombing in Boston. His younger brother, Dzhokhar Tsnarnaev, was taken into custody one day later and charged in the attack, which killed three people and wounded 260.
