He gets his chance tomorrow...
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Chris Scott (6-2) says he is hoping to redeem himself after his loss to Mats Nielsson by unanimous decision in April, which ended a five-fight win streak.
He will fight Pavel Kusch at Cage Warriors 58, which takes place at the Olympisk Arena in Grozny, Chechnya. All six of Scott's wins have been by tapout, while Kusch has submissions in all of his thirteen wins.
On how he will win: "Coming off a loss, I'm not worried with how I win. Stand and trade, get to the floor – I just want to get in there and fight again. I just want to get in there and prove that."
On his loss: "My last fight, it was a good yardstick. Mats is an excellent fighter. He fought Tor Troeng, who's in the UFC. He fought Tommy Speer, who was in the UFC recently. He's had some tough fights, and I took him the distance. Now I want to take it farther and take the positives and build on that and prove it against another good European opponent."
On redeeming himself: "I was looking to get back as quick as I could (after the loss). There a few shows that I was looking to get on, but there were issues. Cage Warriors offered this in Chechnya, and I couldn't turn down an offer like that, really."
