He's not a guy you can outlast...
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Dave Branch (12-3) said that he has been training harder so that his opponents will no longer be safe by simply surviving his opening onslaught. He will face Danillo Villefort (14-4) at World Series Of Fighting 5, which takes place tonight at the Revel Atlantic City in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
On his goals: "I don't want to be known as the guy that guys train for and are like, 'Alright, give it two, three minutes, and he's going to get tired from trying to take you down, and then you're going to be able to bang him out on the feet. I want people to be afraid everywhere. There's no safe haven."
On Villefort: "He knows exactly what I'm going to go in there and do to him, and I hope he's prepared for it. I'm not going to waste too much time during the weigh-ins. We're going to look at each other, I'm going to walk off, and then we'll have our day inside the 10 corners of doom, when he steps into my office."
On his plan to finish the fight: "I'm in a really good place right now, and it's my time. I'm just going to go in there and put it down. I'm looking to finish my opponent. I want to finish him. You've got to do what you've got to do to survive in there, and I'm not looking to have anybody survive against me any more. Those days are over."
