At UFC On Fox 9...
MMA Junkie reports that Scott Jorgensen (14-7 MMA, 3-3 UFC) will drop down to flyweight to fight Ian McCall (12-4-1 MMA, 1-2-1 UFC) at UFC on Fox 9: Pettis vs Thomson. The event is set for December 14 at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California. The main card airs on FOX after preliminary fights on FOX Sports 1 and Facebook. It hasn't been revealed where Jorgensen vs McCall will end up.
Jorgensen has been with Zuffa since 2008, with a 7-3 record in WEC before that promotion folded. He started in the UFC with wins over Jeff Curran and Ken Stone but then went 1-3 with losses to Urijah Faber, Eddie Wineland and Renan Barao. There were, however, two "Fight of the Night" performances in those loses.
McCall has been a part of the flyweight division since it was started. He suffered losses to Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson and had a draw with Johnson. However, at UFC 163, he received a "Fight of the Night" win over Iliarde Santos.
Here's the current card:
Champ Anthony Pettis vs. Josh Thomson - for UFC lightweight title
Urijah Faber vs. Michael McDonald
Nik Lentz vs. Chad Mendes
Scott Jorgensen vs. Ian McCall
