Think he can win?
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Alexander Gustafsson (15-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) talked about the roll he is on that led him to a light heavyweight title fight against champion Jon Jones (18-1 MMA, 12-1 UFC) at UFC 165 tomorrow. The fight takes place at the Air Canada Center in Toronto.
On his only loss to Phil Davis in April 2010: "After that fight, everything crashed, all my dreams. I thought, 'I just lost. Let's try something else. It can't get worse than this.'"
On training in San Diego: "The main thing I learned in San Diego was I can't do this and compete with the best guys in the world if I'm just doing MMA as a hobby. It has to be my job. Since that camp, it has been."
On his title shot: "To me, the only thing that matters is who has worked the hardest and who wants that belt more. I know it's me, and I will take that belt."
