He faces Renan Barao tomorrow…
- Eddie Wineland recently spoke about tomorrow's fight with Renan Barao and more. Here are the highlights…
On His Regular Job as a Fire Fighter: "Having my full-time job works out perfectly for me; I only work 110 or so days a year. The other 250 days, I'm in the gym and staying sharp. Both are physical jobs, so they require me to be in good health."
On Why He Keeps The Job: "I don't see a point in giving up a job that I can hold and still fight at the same time," he says. "They're supportive of it and are behind me in my fighting. I like to work and stay busy in my downtime."
On Facing Renan Barao: "It's no secret that Barao's winning streak is amazing," Wineland says. "I don't care about that. They're all opponents, all men as he is. But he has yet to face me, so we'll see how that winning streak fares after Saturday."
On Being Labeled a Working Man's Champion: "Working man's champion is exactly what I am," Wineland says. "I like to work and stay busy. I create too many side projects and headaches for myself if I'm not working or in the gym. I don't mind getting my hands dirty and earning my keep."
