MMA lightweight fighter Ryan Couture, son of former UFC champion and Hall of Famer Randy Couture, was cut from the UFC. The news was announced today by Couture's manager, Sam Spira.
Couture's cut follows two straight losses in the UFC, going 0-2 in the organization. Couture made his professional MMA debut in Strikeforce, going 6-1 in the organization before he transitioned over to the UFC. He suffered back-to-back losses against Ross Pearson and Al Iaquinta.
According to Spira, Couture now aims to regroup and gain more experience on a smaller platform before deciding if he wants to make another push for a UFC contract.
