Lavar Johnson Assumes Everyone Is Trying to Take Him Down Now

Because of Brendan Schaub...
Lavar Johnson recently spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Vinicius Queiroz at Bellator 102. Check out the highlights:
On being prepped for takedowns: "I'm assuming that everybody is trying to take me down now."
On getting taken down by Brendan Schaub at UFC 157: "I'm an idiot for that. It's my fault for being overly aggressive and going for that one-shot kill."
On Schaub claiming that he asked Johnson why he didn't learn jiu-jitsu in the fight: "He ad-libbed that in. When the referee said, 'Keep moving,' he said, 'I'm working here.' Trust me, he did not want to stand up. He wanted to keep it on the ground for as long as possible, which I don't blame him. I still outstruck him, 170 punches to 70, from my back."
On wanting to face Cheick Kongo: "I think Kongo is the main guy that everybody wants to fight. He's got the biggest name out of everybody here. You beat Kongo and have that on your resume, then that's saying big things. So I think we're all looking at Kongo."
On not underestimating Queiroz: "I don't take away anything from these fighters. Everybody at this level is a really good fighter, and they're in Bellator or the UFC not because they can't fight. We're heavyweights – one punch could change the whole situation, so there's no give at this level. You better take everybody seriously, or you're going to get hurt. So I'm not looking past Vinicius."
