Dana White says was too much...
Rousimar Palhares has paid the price for his holding onto the ankle lock submission hold that picked him up a win last night at UFC Fight Night 29. Dana White spoke with ESPN's Jeremy Schaap and said that Palhares has been cut by the UFC following the card last night and won't get another shot at the UFC again following the incident.
White said when asked about whether such incidents gave the UFC a black eye, "If you ever watch a UFC event, the camaraderie is amazing in this sport. We had an incident with a guy named Paul Daley, from England, who hit somebody after the fight was over. We cut him, and he'll never fight in the UFC ever again. And this is the second incident we've had with Palhares where he had the lock and he didn't let it go. But I'm going to cut him, too. He's done."
Palhares also lost out on what would have been a $50,000 "Submission of the Night" bonues, while the Comissao Atletica Brasileira de MMA (CABMMA) was investigating whether Palhares' actions were unsportsmanlike. Check out White's interview with Schaap below:
