He lost some money and training gear...
MMA na Rede (via MMA Junkie) reports that welterweight Yan Cabral (11-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) claimed on his Facebook that he was robbed at gunpoint in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Cabral beat David Mitchell (12-4 MMA, 1-4 UFC) by decision at UFC Fight Night 29 in Brazil. He was robbed not far from the Nova Uniao training center. He said on Facebook that "Merda de pais" was a "s--tty county" and provided a link to the original story.
Cabral was robbed by two individuals on a motorcycle of his backpack, which contained training equipment and money he had withdrawn to pay MMA coach Andre Pederneiras, the head of Nova Uniao.
He said: "I've lived in Rio for 15 years, and this never happened before. It was a big scare."
UFC Fight Night 29 (which took place at the Jose Correa Arena in Barueri, Sao Paulo, Brazil and aired on Fox Sports 1) was Cabral's debut and part of the preliminary card. He had three unanimous scores of 30-27 for the win. He was previously a cast member of the second season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil but was forced out early with an injury.
