Fans Invited To UFC 166 Workouts, Weigh-Ins And Tailgate Party

MMA Junkie reports that fans are invited to several pre-fight events in Houston, Texas before UFC 166, the promotion's first show in the city in two years.
Wednesday will see open fighter workouts featuring Cain Velasquez, Junior Dos Santos, Daniel Cormier, Roy Nelson, Gilbert Melendez and Diego Sanchez. It takes place at the House of Blues, 1204 Caroline St. in Houston. The first fighter starts working out at 1 PM Ct.
Friday will be the weigh-in event at the Toyota Center. Members of the UFC Fight Club can enter at 1:30 PM CT. There will be a Q&A with an as-of-yet unnamed fighter at 2 PM. Doors open to the general public at 3 PM and the first fighter weighs in at 4 PM.
Saturday includes a tailgate party outside of the Toyota Center from 1:30 to 5:30 PM CT. There will be meet and greets and autograph sessions with UFC fighters, prize giveaways, a UFC merchandise tent, music, sponsor booths and food and beverage vendors.
The event itself happens on Saturday night at the Toyota Center. The main event sees UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez (12-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) defend against Junior Dos Santos (16-2 MMA, 10-1 UFC). This will be the third time they have fought. The main card airs on PPV after preliminary fights on FOX Sports 1 and Facebook. The card also has a heavyweight fight between Daniel Cormier (12-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Roy Nelson (19-8 MMA, 6-4 UFC) in Cormier's likely final fight before going to light heavyweight. Gilbert Melendez (21-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will battle Diego Sanchez (24-5 MMA, 13-5 UFC).
