The two fight at UFC Fight Night 30...
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Lyoto Machida (19-4 MMA, 11-4 UFC) and Mark Munoz (13-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) spoke about the middleweight title picture. Both men will fight at UFC Fight Night 30, where Machida is replacing Michael Bisping.
Machida on getting a middleweight title shot: "I don't know about the future. I don't know what will happen. I'm just arriving (at middleweight), and it's hard to say about the title shot. Everyone's asking about that, but I'd prefer not mentioning it."
Munoz on if Machida is eligible for a title fight: "I think with Lyoto going down to middleweight, and being a former champion, and fighting me, he definitely has a way to be able to fight for a title (quickly). But that's only if he gets past me. I truly believe we both have a shot at a title after this fight."
Munoz on the Anderson Silva vs Chris Weidman rematch: "Anderson's my good friend, and I want nothing but the best for Anderson. I want him to win. But at the same time, I don't want to fight my friend again (like with Machida). I want him to win the fight, but I also want Weidman to win because I want that rematch. Bad. Bad."
