MMA Junkie reports that Bellator MMA has moved the season 9 heavyweight tournament fight of Cheick Kongo (19-8-2 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) vs Vinicius Queiroz (7-3 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) to Bellator 107. This comes after the announcement that the Bellator 106 PPV would be canceled.
The event takes place on November 8 at the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma. It airs on Spike TV after preliminary fights on Spike.com.
The fight is the end of a four-man tournament. It was set to start next week's PPV. But Bellator 106 was canceled after Tito Ortiz suffered an injury and was forced out of a fight with Quinton Jackson. The card was moved to Spike TV.
Kongo fought for the first time since his UFC release and went to the finals with a second-round TKo of Mark Godbeer at Bellator 102. He is 5-2-1 in his past eight fights. It was his 11th knockout in 19 wins. Queiroz is 2-1 in Bellator after a 23-second KO of Lavar Johnson at Bellator 102. His only Bellator loss was to champion Alexander Volkov. He has six KOs in seven wins. The winner of their fight gets a title shot.
