Rafael dos Anjos Wants A Fight With TJ Grant, Gilbert Melendez Or Benson Henderson
Posted by Joseph Lee on 10.29.2013

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Rafael dos Anjos (20-6 MMA, 9-4 UFC) said he's "not surprised at all" that so many lightweight fighters are mentioning him as a possible opponent due to his five fight winning streak. He went 4-4 in his first eight fights but has had five straight wins since, including wins over Evan Dunham and Donald Cerrone.

He said: "Without a doubt, now I'll see more challenges, more people wanting to fight me, trying to break my streak. No, I'm not surprised at all. I'm on a five-fight win streak."

Former champion Benson Henderson (19-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC) has said he's also interested in fighting dos Anjos.

When asked who he'd like to face, he replied: "Actually, Henderson is one of the names I was thinking about. I was thinking I should face T.J. Grant, Gilbert Melendez or Ben Henderson next. That's because I want to beat someone who will put me in a title shot."

Henderson (19-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC) ended a seven-fight winning streak when he lost his title to Anthony Pettis at UFC 164. He won't get an immediate rematch as Pettis will fight Josh Thomson in December. Melendez (22-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) recently had his first UFC win in a "Fight of the Night" win over Diego Sanchez at UFC 166. TJ Grant (21-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) is also on a fight-five winning streak.

He was promised a title shot before a concussion put him out of action.

Dos Anjos added: "I think I only need one more victory before a title shot if I face one of those three names."
