Shogun on the talk he might move to middleweight: "Not necessarily. Those kinds of decisions are made with my team," he continued to MMAjunkie at the event's post-fight news conference, which took place at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Australia. "It's up to my team to decide what's next. I wouldn't rule anything out at this moment, but rightfully so, we just want to celebrate. We're going to celebrate the win. Then later on, we'll talk...No, I don't think I'm changing weight classes right now. At first, I will stay at light heavyweight, but I'm not thinking about any belt or title right now. I'm thinking about my next fight. This is my next dream, and my next goal. After that, we'll see where it goes."
Shogun on his training camp for the fight and getting the victory after a tough camp: "For us fighters, winning is the biggest reason for joy or happiness that we can have, because we endure a lot of suffering through training camp. We give away a lot of stuff that we like to be focused on the training and away from things that we like and cutting weight and all the things we go through. The victory is the only thing that makes this all make sense, so it's really a happy moment."
Shogun on his family being happy when he gets a quick knockout: "My mom gets happy, my wife gets happy, and everybody at home gets happier, so I'll take it."
