Tickets for UFC's Return To London On Sale Next Month
Posted by Joseph Lee on 12.17.2013

MMA Junkie reports that tickets for "UFC Fight Night London: Gustafsson vs Manuwa" go on sale next month. The event happens on March 8 at the O2 Arena. No broadcast plans have been revealed yet. It features a light heavyweight fight between Alexander Gustafsson and Jimi Manuwa. The event is part of the UFC's 2013 European tour.

Tickets go on sale on January 31, 2014 at 10 AM BMT, ranging from £40 ($65 US) to £850 ($1,380 US) for VIP experience tickets. Members of the UFC Fight Club can buy tickets on January 29 and subscribers of the UFC's e-newsletter can buy tickets on January 30.

If Gustafsson beats Manuwa, he has been promised another shot at the lightweight title, which he almost won from Jon Jones in September.

Gustafsson said of Manuwa: "His clean record is impressive, but I am one opponent away from challenging the champion again and I will fight my heart out to get a win in March. We will put on a hell of a show, but I am not sure who will have the hometown advantage since I expect an invasion of Swedish fans to come and support me."

Manuwa added: "Alex is a huge test for me, but it is one I have long dreamed of. I'm ready to take this opportunity to climb up the light heavyweight ladder and get closer to my goal of being a UFC champion. I asked for this fight, and thought Alex would avoid me, but he is a true professional and I have great respect for him. He knows my record and he knows how unpredictable every fight can be in the UFC. We've seen (Anderson) Silva, Jones and (Georges St-Pierre) all showing their vulnerability this year."

The card also features Ross Pearson vs Melvin Guillard (who had a co contest in October in Manchester), Brad Pickett's flyweight debut against Ian McCall and Gunnar Nelson vs Omari Akhmedov in a welterweight fight. More fights will likely be announced today.

Here's the current card:

  • Alexander Gustafsson vs. Jimi Manuwa
  • Melvin Guillard vs. Ross Pearson
  • Ian McCall vs. Brad Pickett
  • Cyrille Diabate vs. Ilir Latifi
  • Omari Akhmedov vs. Gunnar Nelson
  • Igor Araujo vs. Danny Mitchell
