He thinks he'll do it again...
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Chris Weidman's (10-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) coach Ray Longo said that Anderson Silva (33-5 MMA, 16-1 UFC) will probably clown around and taunt Weidman again at UFC 168 because that's who he is. The two are fighting in a rematch for the middleweight title after Weidman took advantage of Silva's clowning and knocked him out at UFC 162.
On his reaction to Weidman winning: "All I could think right then was, Thank God the fight's over'. It was such a relief and also such a great feeling. It really was."
On Silva's penchant for taunting: "No matter what fight you watch of his, he does that. I kind of think it's woven into the fabric of who Anderson Silva is. I think it's going to be hard for him to change. You've got to remember that clowning around is a tactic. It does mesmerize guys."
Weidman on his game plan: "My approach is the same as last time. Work hard in training camp, and work hard when I get in the cage. Be aggressive, follow my instincts, go forward and go for the finish."
