Jim Alkers Says He Could Beat Most of the UFC Featherweight Division
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 12.30.2013

Jim Alers recently spoke with MMAjunkie about his featherweight title defense against Graham Turner at Cage Warriors 63. Check out the highlights:

On wanting a UFC shot: "I don't know what Sean Shelby's waiting for. I watch the fights all the time and I know I can beat most of these guys in the UFC featherweight division."

on his fight with Turner: "No matter where the fight goes, I'll be ready. If I have to go to a decision, I'm going to win every round and win the fight. But before that, I feel like I would rush and try to get the finish. So it helped me a lot. I went from never getting out of the second to doing a lot of rounds lately."

On looking to move ahead: "Cage Warriors was the first promotion I ever fought for when they had Cage Warriors USA. My first fight was under their banner, and to get the chance five years later to fight for their title is amazing. Such a great feeling to say, ‘Look what I accomplished over the years.'"
