Posted by Larry Csonka on 03.07.2014
Love MMA? Love 411? Write for us!
411 is looking for new writers for our MMA section! If you love MMA and love to write, we want you on our team. Your writing needs to be spelling and grammar checked, be easy to read, and be well organized. You may also get the chance to interview MMA stars or represent 411 at live MMA events! It takes time (often a lot of time) and work (often a lot of work). We take this very seriously and so should you. Don't apply unless you are serious and plan to stick around.
We also require images in columns, video if possible (embedding videos from YouTube or similar places would be fine), formatting to keep the column organized, (bold, italics, underlines, larger font for headers/titles/subtitles, colored font, and so on), avoiding "walls of text" by breaking up long columns with section headers, and, if possible, smaller sections to go with a main op-ed piece.
DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO TAKE ON A WEEKLY COMMITMENT TO COMPLETING YOUR COLUMN/REPORT/ARTICLE! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE OUR TIME!
Please include a sample of the work you would be offering to 411mania.
We're looking for…
The MMA 5&1 News Column - The MMA 5&1 is a fun news column to write for the MMA Zone. You will work with other staff members to make sure that these popular weekly are completed on time. You are also expected to participate as a writer in these columns. Examples of these columns are below…
MMA TV Reporter: We are looking for someone to help recap the live MMA events that run on TV, with The Ultimate Fighter and Bellator being top priority, but there are lots of different events to go around! You will need to be able to do LIVE recaps of the shows, where you recap the show, live as it happens, and constantly update the 411 main page. For an example of the basic 411 MMA TV report, check out the check out the UFC on FOX 7 report.
