He had plans for his post-fight interview...
In an interview with MMA Junkie, TJ Dillashaw (8-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) said that he was hoping to use his post-fight interview at UFC on FOX 5 to beg for a fight at UFC on FOX 9. That chance never happened as he lost to Raphael Assuncao by split decision. While he got a 50,000 "fight of the night" bonus, the loss ended a four fight winning streak. At UFC Fight Night 35, he hopes to get back on track when he faces Mike Easton (13-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC). The event airs on FOX Sports 1 on January 15 from The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga.
On dealing with losses: "You've got to be able to shake it off. I was pretty disappointed after it happened, and every time it came on TV again, I got a little ticked off. But it just fueled my fire to train again as soon as possible."
On his thoughts on Easton: "I feel like he carries a fast pace, but then he slows down. He does a good job of keeping up the pace in the first round, but then he kind of lets you come back. He slows it down a little bit. I hope he brings that fast pace because I'm going to try to push him even faster and wear him out."
On how things can change in MMA: "It's a crazy sport. There are some intense highs and some low lows, and they happen so fast. They come and go so fast."
