Elias Silverio Says Isaac Vallie-Flagg is a Samurai
Posted by Joseph Lee on 01.14.2014

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Elias Silverio (9-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) spoke about dropping down two weight classes to lightweight for a fight against Isaac Vallie-Flagg (14-3-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 35.

On getting a win in his UFC debut: "In my last fight, a dream came true for me, a dream I chased after for years. My next dream is to be champion, so I have to keep being victorious. For my fight now, I'm well focused. I'm in a new weight class and I aim to put on a great show."

On fighting Vallie-Flagg: "He is also a warrior, a samurai. He likes to fight on the feet, and so do I. He's on a long win streak. But that's expected if you just joined the UFC. The same is true for me. That's why I think we'll be putting on a great show."

On how he views his fights: "Victories are the consequence of our work. I wish to keep winning until I reach the belt. But that's not a dream for today. I'm only worried about the fight in front of me now."
