Bellator 116 To Happen On April 11 in California

MMA Junkie reports that Bellator 116 will happen on April 11 in Temecula, California. It will feature the semi-finals of the season ten welterweight tournament. It will crown a new welterweight champion after Ben Askren left in the fall and signed with ONE FC after trying (and failing) to sign with the UFC.

The tournament begins at Bellator 112 (March 14 at Horseshoe Hammond Casino) and continues at Bellator 116 at the Pechanga Resort & Casino. It will feature a light heavyweight fight between Joey Beltran and Vladimir Matyushenko.

The welterweight tournament begins at Bellator 112 with Jesse Juarez (21-8 MMA, 5-0 BMMA) vs Andrey Koreshkov (14-1 MMA, 5-1 BMMA), Adam McDonough (9-0 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) Vs Mark Scanlon (9-2 MMA, 0-0 BMMA), Sam Oropeza (10-2 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) vs Joe Riggs (40-14 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) and Nah'Shon Burrell (11-3 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) vs War Machine (14-5 MMA, 2-1 BMMA). The winners fight at Bellator 116.
