He has his next opponent picked out...
Eddie Wineland spoke with MMAjunkie about his win over Yves Jabouin at UFC on FOX 10, his next fight and more. Check out the highlights:
On wanting to fight Raphael Assuncao at UFC 170: "I just came off of a fight. I've enjoyed the last week. This week, I'm getting back to work. I'm ready to fight. I've made it known that if they need me to step in, I'm available and I'm ready to take the fight. I'll play Superman and save the day."
On getting as many fights as possible this year: "The last time I had back-to-back fights like that was when I was fighting in Hammond (Ind.). I have a wedding and a house that I need to pay for, so of course I will take the fight. Plus, it moves me forward. I'm already in good shape, so I don't think there would be too many challenges. He's a tough guy and I think it would make a great fight."
On when he might fight if not at UFC 170: "I was hoping for March or April. I'll take this, though, because I'm already in shape. I'm excited – hope they offer it."
