UFC Set For April 11th Fight Night Event at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi
Posted by Larry Csonka on 02.05.2014

According to mmajunkie.com, the UFC is partnering with Flash Entertainment for a Middle East expansion, which includes both with live events and broadcast events. This two-year deal will include a broadcast agreement for "The Ultimate Fighter" reality competition, as well as the UFC's return to Abu Dhabi for a live event on April 11. The Fight Night event takes place at Yas Island, a man-made entertainment center in Abu Dhabi. The event will air on UFC Fight Pass, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (34-8-1 MMA, 5-4 UFC) vs. Roy Nelson (19-9 MMA, 6-5 UFC) will main event the show. Gary Cook, the Executive Vice President and Managing Director of UFC in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, had the following to say on the deal…

"This agreement is a major step in our strategic expansion across EMEA and, in particular, will see our audience grow dramatically across the region. There is a huge market for the UFC in the Middle East. The fans want live events and can now look forward to local tailored content in the region. Flash Entertainment has worked with some of the biggest sports organizations and brands in the world and they are committed to a shared vision for delivering an unrivaled product in terms of excitement and production values to the Middle Eastern audience."
