Jessica Eye And UFC Release Statements On Her UFC 166 No Decision
Posted by Joseph Lee on 02.06.2014

MMA Junkie reports that the UFC and Jessica Eye (10-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) have released statements about her failed drug test after UFC 166. She beat Sarah Kaufman via split decision but the fight was changed to a no-decision by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. It wasn't revealed what she tested positive for.

On January 22, it was revealed that she "tested positive for a prohibited drug." She was fined $1,875 and placed on a "one year fully probated suspension."

The UFC said: "The UFC received word of the fully probated suspension and fine issued to Jessica Eye by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The UFC intends to honor the probation, which will not force Eye to miss her scheduled bout at UFC 170."

Eye intends to contest the findings and is currently set to fight Alexis Davis (15-5 MMA, 2-0 UFC) at UFC 170 on Feb. 22. That bout is set for FOX Sports 1, which precedes the night's pay-per-view main card.

She said: "I was recently alerted to the fact that I was issued a fully probated suspension and fine by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. While I intend to discuss with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation the overturning of my victory at UFC 166, I have accepted the terms of the probation and intend to compete at UFC 170 on Feb. 22. I pride myself on following the rules and representing my family, teammates, sponsors and fans in the best light possible. I apologize for any distractions this has caused."

TDLR public information officer Susan Stanford said earier this week that Eye is on "probation as long as she complies" with the administrative order.
