Ronda Rousey Lands Roles in Entourage Movie and The Athena Project Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 02.06.2014
Rousey’s stardom continues to rise…
Variety reports that UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has landed two more movie roles.
She's now attached to play a role in the upcoming Entourage movie. In addition, she's also reportedly attached to star in the film adaptation of the Brad Thor book The Athena Project. Warner Bros. is currently in final negotiations to acquire the rights to the book.
Rousey is next set to fight on February 22 at UFC 171 against undefeated fighter and Olympic silver medalist Sara McMann. According to the report, Rousey would begin filming her role for the Entourage movie in mid-March.
The Athena Project does not have a writer of yet, so Rousey would likely fight again before the project went into production. The story follows a top secret, all-female Delta Force counterterrorism team called the Athena Project. The group are sent in to hunt and ill a terrorist after a bombing in Rome kills 20 Americans. The stakes get higher when the team realizes there's more at play than a simple bombing.
Rousey will first be seen in The Expendables 3, due out in August. She also worked on Fast & Furious 7, which was recently delayed due to the recent tragic passing of co-star Paul Walker.
