No slow start...
Edson Barboza recently spoke about his fight with Donald Cerrone at UFC on FOX 11. Check out the highlights:
On getting momentarily knocked out by Danny Castillo at UFC on FOX 9: "I don't remember anything. I woke up, and he was on my back. Thank God I recovered well."
On having his career on the line in the Castillo fight: "I never felt this situation in my life. It was the first time in a fight. It proved a lot. It's good for me."
On his tendency to start slow: "My coach says, ‘Junior, start fast! Start ready!' I know I need to change this. I need to fight in the first round, and the second and third round needs to be the same speed. Definitely, I'm trying to change it for this fight, to step in and give 100 percent for the first round."
On his style: "Everybody knows that in muay Thai, in the first or second rounds, nobody fights. They just play. I think my game for MMA is the same. I play, and I give the opportunity to give me something. That's why I have a couple knockouts in round No. 2. I play where the guy gives me an opportunity."
On facing Cerrone: "It's no muay Thai fight. I hope it stays on the feet, because I love this, but I'm ready (if it goes to the ground). I train every time for everything."
