He's a little upset...
Ovince St. Preux spoke today with MMAjunkie about his opponent for UFC 171, Thiago Silva, being cut after his arrest for domestic abuse and other charges. Check out the highlights:
On his UFC 171 status being in limbo: "I'm a little upset. I'm upset, but it's not anything that's going to kill me."
On Silva's situation: "I've got a lot of respect for my mom and my sister. She's the only girl out of six boys, so it's one of those things. I say to my sister sometimes, and I love my sister, but with her personality, she gets herself in trouble a lot of times. But at the end of the day, regardless of whether it's her fault or the other person's fault, you don't put your hands on my sister, because she's a girl."
On whether he'll get a new opponent: "Hopefully, they're looking for an opponent for me. It's one of those things where it caught everybody by surprise. (UFC matchmaker) Joe Silva knows everything about it. It's like a waiting game. I'm pretty sure I'm still on the card; the fight is six weeks away."
On where he's at physically: "My biggest thing was my dieting stuff. I'm on point. I weighed myself last night and thought I needed to gain three or four more pounds because I'm losing weight too fast. I've been training practically every day like four times a day. My preparation was there. Now I'm just going to have to get it refocused."
