UFC Announces Change in Fight Bonus Structure
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 02.11.2014

The UFC officially announced today that they are changing the bonus structure for their fight night cards. You can read their full statement below.

"The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced today a modification to its live event bonuses. Effective immediately, UFC will award Fight of the Night bonuses to each of the fighters in the best fight of the night, as well as additional Performance of the Night bonuses to the two best individual performances on the card. The bonus amounts will remain $50,000. The Performance of the Night bonuses will reward the athletes who put on the best and most exciting individual performances."

Essentially, the UFC will no longer award bonuses for Submission of the Night and Knockout of the Night. Instead they will award a Fight of the Night bonuses to each fighter in the "Fight of the Night." Additional Performance of the Night bonuses will be awarded to the two best individual performances on the card. Previously, the UFC had made all their "of the Night" bonus amounts $50,000 (with some exceptions). Bonuses will remain the $50,000 amount going forward under the new policy.
