She wanted to see if it made Alexis uncomfortable...
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Jessica Eye (10-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) spoke about her stare-down with her UFC 170 opponent Alexis Davis (15-5 MMA, 2-0 UFC) at the weigh-ins for the event on Friday. The two will meet during tonight's preliminary card on FOX Sports 1.
On her ability to glare at opponents: "I've got that Mike Tyson-style stare-down. I'm going to see if you're going to turn away from me. I'm going to see if it's uncomfortable for you to look me in my face."
On getting her toughness from her dad: "My dad always taught me that. When I was a little kid, any time we got in trouble, he'd be like, ‘Look at me. Look at me when I'm talking to you.' My dad always taught me that you never let anybody know they've got your goat. Because, then they know they've got you. No matter what in this sport, I will always put up my fist and always fight. I don't need to argue with you to make you an object of my emotion. Fighting's fighting. Let's not make it anything else."
On a possible title shot if she wins: "I don't call people out. I'm a firm believer that the right things happen at the right times. But hey, if (UFC President) Dana (White) wants me to fight (for the title), I'll be there, and I'll be ready."
