Chidi Njokuani Doesn't Want To Know How Close He Is To The UFC
Posted by Joseph Lee on 03.04.2014

In an interview with MMA Junkie Chidi Njokuani (10-4) said that he doesn't want to hear any rumors about how close he is to fighting in the UFC. He's currently set to fight for Resurrection Fighting Alliance's RFA 13 against Chris Heatherly (7-1) on Friday.

On why he doesn't want to hear about how close he is: "What would suck is if I got that comment (that my next fight would get me in the UFC), and then I win the fight, and I don't get to go and I have to fight again. Then I'd be like, ‘They told me I was already in the UFC; I don't even care about this fight.' That would suck. "But just to hear it, it makes me feel good."

On getting money from working for higher promotions: "[Money] doesn't mean a lot to me, but I know it would help a lot for the people around me."

On getting to the UFC eventually: "It will be cool to fight for them one day and be on the same card as my brother, like we used to do back in the day. It will feel like more of an accomplishment to me, but I'm not picky."
