He calls it "guided cheating"...
In an interview with Fight Now TV, Chris Weidman (11-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC) spoke about the recent ban on TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. In the same interview, his UFC 173 opponent Lyoto Machida (21-4 MMA, 13-4 UFC) and Ryan Bader were also asked about it at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbis, Ohio. Machida will replace Vitor Belfort (24-10 MMA, 13-6) in the May 24 fight for the middleweight title.
Weidman said: "I've made it no secret at all my stance on TRT. I always thought it was cheating. There was just guys taking advantage of it, so it's a huge step in the right direction for the sport to get rid of that. There's always going to be people cheating out there, but when it was guided cheating and people were allowed to cheat, that was not right. It's a step in the right direction."
