UFC To Return To Dublin On July 19
Posted by Joseph Lee on 03.06.2014

MMA Junkie reports that the UFC will return to Dublin, Ireland on July 19. The show will likely be a UFC Fight Night card. Meanwhile, the promotion is also planning an event in Glasgow, Scotland in 2015. Executive Vice President and Managing Director of UFC EMEA Garry Cook confirmed the plans with talkSPORT. Cards, venues and ticket information were not announced.

This comes hours after the UFC announced an event for May 31 in Berlin, which is followed by another event in Brazil on the same day.

The UFC has only had one show in Ireland before. UFC 93 happened in 2009 in Dublin. The main event saw Dan Henderson defeat Rich Franklin by split decision at The O2. Scotland has never hosted a UFC show, but the UFC has several Scottish fighters on the roster. This includes Joanne Calderwood, who will appear on The Ultimate Fighter 20 in an attempt to win the tournament and become the first 115-pound strawweight champion. She previously competed for Invicta FC and Cage Warriors. Robert Whiteford, who debuted at UFC 171, is also from Scotland.
