See what she has to say…
- Invicta FC featherweight champion Cristiane ‘Cyborg' Justino recently spoke about dropping to 135 and more. Here are the highlights…
On Dropping to 135: "Before, I said I wouldn't because I would die, because I thought I couldn't make 10 fights at 135 (pounds). I can make a nice deal for me and my opponent for three, four times. I'll put my head to it and try it. This year, I'm so busy, and I have a lot of fights. I have a good chance to change my size, and I'll get some help, too. I'll try 100 percent to make weight because I want the fight (with Rousey)," she said. "I think it's good for the fans who want to watch the fight."
On Splitting From Manager Tito Ortiz: "Tito is now my family," she said. "When I met him, he supported me when nobody would help me. When you're champion, you have a lot of people by your side. When you have bad times, nobody's with you. And he was with me. He told me, ‘It's better for you that I'm around less because I don't want to make problems for you.' He not only watched my money, but he knows me. What manager knows me? It's very hard for me. I respect him so much, and we're still friends and still family. I know he'll be by my side when I fight. It makes me sad, but I know it's important for me now with this situation. I can train hard and focus."
On Fighting at 135 in Invicta: "Maybe I want to fight at 135 in Invicta first," Justino said. "It's my house, and I'm going to try it first in Invicta, and maybe be champion there. I don't know, I have to talk to (Invicta FC president) Shannon (Knapp). But I want to make my first (135-pound) fight in Invicta, and you can see what happens after."
On Her Career: "I love my work," she said. "I'm very happy with MMA. I have the Lion Fight show, and I compete in jiu-jitsu. I keep learning. I don't like to stop/ I don't like to be home. I don't do anything. I like training every day. When I'm training for a fight, I have more focus. I like to be busy."
