Dana White Says Title Shot Not Guaranteed for Winner of Co-Main Event at UFC 171
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 03.13.2014

Speaking to reporters in a pre-fight media scrum ahead of UFC 171, UFC President Dana White clarified on Thursday (March 13) that the winner of Saturday's co-main event welterweight bout between Tyron Woodley and Carlos Condit would not receive a guaranteed title shot with a win. The fight could potentially determine the next opponent for the winner of the main event bout for the vacant welterweight title between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler.

White stated on the matter, "There's no guarantees, anywhere, ever in life." He added, "They're going to have to come out and perform, and we'll see what happens."

UFC 171 is set for Saturday, March 15 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The main card will be broadcast live on PPV.
