UPDATEDx2: UFC 171 Weigh-In Results: Johny Hendricks Misses Weight on First Attempt
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 03.14.2014

UFC officials have confirmed that Renee Forte only made 156.5 pounds on his second attempt. Forte will now forfeit 20% of his purse to his opponent, Francisco Trevino, and the fight will go on as scheduled. Forte initially weighed in at 157 pounds.

Also Kelvin Gastelum weighed in at 170 pounds on his third attempt. He initially weighed in at 172.5 pounds earlier and then made a second attempt at 172.25 pounds before hitting the mark on his third try.

UPDATE 1: MMAjunkie reports that Johny Hendricks came in at 170 points in his second weigh-in attempt, and the welterweight title match will go on without changes.

ORIGINAL: The UFC held the weigh-ins today for tomorrow's UFC 171 event. The fight card is set for tomorrow, March 15, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The event is scheduled to be headlined by a UFC welterweight title bout which will crown a new champion after former undefeated champion Georges St-Pierre vacated the belt and took a sabbatical from the sport. However, one of the main event's competitors, Johny Hendricks (171.5 lbs), missed weight on his first attempt. Robbie Lawler (170 lbs) came in on weight.

Hendricks now has one hour to make weight in order to salvage his title fight. Otherwise, the fight will remain a five-round bout. If Hendricks does not make weight and still wins the fight, he will not be the champion. If Lawler wins, he will be declared the new UFC welterweight champion, according to the UFC Fox Sports analyst team. In addition, Kelvin Gastelum (172.5 lbs) and Renee Forte (157 lbs) also did not make weight on their initial attempts. Here are the full weigh-in results:
