In an interview with MMA Junkie, Renee Forte (8-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) spoke about his fight with Francisco Trevino (11-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) at UFC 171 tonight in Dallas. The two will fight on the preliminary card on UFC Fight Pass before the Fox Sports 2 and PPV broadcasts.
On fighting internationally: "Fighting internationally has been valuable experience in dealing with adversity. I feel very good about fighting in the UFC. It's a dream of mine. I'm very happy to be here."
On his losses to John Makdessi and Sergio Moraes: "Regarding those losses, at this high level, small details define the outcome. But I keep working hard everyday, looking to correct my errors. I have trust in the work I've been doing. I feel great. I feel very comfortable in the UFC now. I think the nervousness isn't there anymore. Fighting in the UFC, the biggest organization in the world, can be a very stressful situation. But I am very confident for this fight."
On preparing for Trevino: "I watched some of his videos. Frank has very good muay Thai and a good ground game. I think he's more of a striker than a grappler. We're working in all areas. I've put in time to work on the muay Thai and boxing, never forgetting that I come from jiu-jitsu. We're ready, no matter where it goes."
