Before her kickboxing title fight...
MMA Junkie reports that week before her title fight for muay thai promotion Lion Fight, Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino (12-1) has passed a random drug test requested by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. She was screened for performance-enhancers and diuretics.
On February 25, the NSAC told Justino through Lion Fight's promoter that she was required to get tested the next morning by 10 AM in San Diego. She did as she was told and the results were confirmed today. She received a one-year fight license from the NSAC this past September when she fought Jennifer Colomb at Lion Fight 11 and won with a third-round TKO.
Several weeks before the test, her former representative Tito Ortiz released a statement that told UFC President Dana White to "test her or stop lying about her" on performance-enhancers. Justin was previously flagged and suspended for a steroid in late 2011. She's the latest fighter to get randomly tested by the NSAC, which is still waiting on results for last week's test for World Series of Fighting 9 headliner Rousimar Palhares.
Justino will fight Jorine Baars for the Lion Fight featherweight title at Lion Fights 14. It takes place on March 28 at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The main card airs on AXS TV.
Justino will defend her Invicta FC featherweight title in June after she said she will drop to bantamweight for a couple of fights to prove she can fight in the division ruled by UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
