His home state...
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Steven Siler (23-11 MMA, 5-2 UFC) said that he hopes the UFC will hold a card in his home state of Utah. He will fight featherweight Rony Jason (13-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 38. The main card airs on FOX Sports 1.
On UFC holding an event in Utah: "It will be cheap for me to fly out my family and friends. That's why I loved the (Ultimate Fighter) Finale, because it was right there in (Las) Vegas, which is four and a half hours away from me."
On why the UFC hasn't held a show there: "In Utah, we're really big on religion, and people go to church on Sundays. I think that kind of scared (UFC President) Dana (White) and [UFC execs Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta] from coming back to Utah. But Bellator came here not too long ago and had one of their best shows, and they're coming back after my fight. So they seem to put on good events."
On fighting Jason: "I think he's going to want to sit there and bang with me, which is the fight that I want to be involved in. I want to be a part of a standup war and be a part of a fight people remember and get that fight-night bonus. I didn't get that from Dennis, but maybe Rony can give it to me."
