Tyler Stinson Says That Josh Burkman Will Be Looking At The Lights After WSOF 9
Posted by Joseph Lee on 03.28.2014

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Tyler Stinson (27-9) gave his official prediction for his fight with Josh Burkman (26-10) at "World Series of Fighting 9: Carl vs. Palhares". The event happens at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. It will air on the NBC Sports Network at 9 PM ET after a preliminary card that streams on MMA Junkie at 6 PM ET. It features a main event welterweight title fight between champion Steve Carl and Rousimar Palhares.

He said: "My prediction is he'll be looking up at the lights, wondering what happened. I think my style and Josh's style definitely favors me. Not only am I six inches taller than he is, I've got a longer reach he does, and I'm a better striker than he is. That's the bottom line."

This is Burkman's first fight since his loss to Steve Carl for the welterweight belt by fourth round submission. This ended a five-fight winning streak with three wins in World Series of Fighting. Stinson debuted in January with a TKO win over Valdir Araujo. He now has a four-fight winning streak. Stinson was considered as a possible replacement for Palhares when he wasn't licensed for the event (which was corrected yesterday). A pre-fight drug test came back negative and Palhares was cleared.
