He doesn't set up goals like that...
Vitaly Minakov recently spoke about his fight with Cheick Kongo at Bellator 155 tonight. Check out the highlights:
On praise he's received: "Some people are comparing me to Fedor Emelianenko as the best Russian fighter in MMA, but I think that you should eat your bread piece by piece. I don't set up goals like that. I'll keep working very hard before each one of my fights – to keep the belt (and) to prepare for each one of my fights as if it was the last one. And then, after many years, I would be able to look back, and only then would I be able to come to such conclusions."
On Kongo: "I think that Kongo is the most experienced of all my past opponents. And at the same time, he's the oldest. Of course, only the fight will tell, but right now I don't see anything special in this fight. I have a confidence in myself. I don't care who's my opponent. Give me any heavyweight in the world right now and I'll do my best to beat him."
On his confidence: "Kongo has met very strong competition in his career. And all people are different. What makes me different from his previous opponents? My name is Vitaly Minakov. That's what makes me different."
