And his fight with Ryan LaFlare tomorrow…
- John Howard recently spoke about tomorrow's fight with Ryan LaFlare. Here are the highlights…
On Getting Back to The UFC: "I'm really happy to be on a roll and be back in the big show again. I like to prove that I'm still around and not some lucky guy getting lucky every time. I'm serious and on my way back and chasing the belt."
On His Future in The Sport: "I'm definitely one of the veterans and a guy with a second chance," he said. "I still have a lot left to prove to people, and I don't mind doing it. I'm excited about that. There's still some work to do, but if I had to fight (the top guys), I will. But I'm not in a rush to. I want to keep testing the waters and take it from there. I still have nine or 10 years left in my career. I'll be here for a long time, and I'm not going anywhere any time soon."
On Fighting Ryan LaFlare Tomorow: "Ryan, I kind of like," Howard said. "We came up on the same circuit, and I was rooting for him. It's too bad we're fighting each other. I'll feel bad that it is him, but we're going to do our thing and do it well. I have to win in dominant fashion like I did against (Bahadurzada), and if I keep doing it, eventually the finish will come," he said. "Everybody has a new little signature thing they do. I think I've got his niche down – what he likes to do a lot. And we're going to see it on Friday night. Every guy has a tell, and that's what I look for. Because I've been doing it for so long, I usually find it. After the fight, I'll tell all."
